Mr. Hwang completed his Master’s Degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2006. While in the Opera Studio he performed in the American premiere of Martinu’s Mirandolina, creating the role of the Fabrizio.

He recently performed the role of Pang in Turandot with Dayton Opera, the role of Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor with New Jersey Versimo Opera and the role of Pang and cover of Calaf in Turandot by G. Puccini at Opera North.

While still in graduate school, Mr. Hwang was engaged with the Utah Festival Opera. As a Young Artist, he performed in La Boheme, Le nozze di Figaro, The Music Man and Man of the La Mancha.

He has performed the role of Camille in the operetta 'Die Lustige Witwe' by Franz Lehar, and the role of Lippo in Street Scene by Kurt Weil for the Manhattan School of Music, the role of Rodolfo in La Boheme, the role of Duke of Rigoletto for Northport Opera and several opera gala concerts at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall.

Mr. Hwang has performed in the premiere of Isang Yun's Sim Tjung(German), creating the role of the Yunger seemann in Korea. Additional solo orchestral experience includes performances with Utah Festival Orchestra, Manhattan Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony and Seoul Art Center Opera House Orchestra.

Mr. Hwang has received the Lindley Incentive Award, Joseph McCrindle scholarship Award, the Manhattan school of music Merit Scholarship, and Yonsei University Alumni Association Schlarship.

Additional He won William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition, Sun Valley Opera Competition, Second Prize in the Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition, Bel Canto Foudation Voice Competition and SOS Vera Scammon International Vocal Competition.

He is engaged to sing the role of Calaf in Turandot with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra in Michigan on September 2009.
