Adam Russell, “has a truly beautiful voice, and his portrayal is artfully crafted” said a recent review of his performance in the title role of Gounod’s Faust. “Russell’s brilliant tenor negotiated the high terrain of the memorable aria “Salut! demeure chaste et pure,” ending it with a beautifully placed high C.” His future engagements include tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth with The Staten Island Philharmonic, and Don Jose in Carmen. He recently sang as tenor soloist in Karl Jenkin’s The Armed Man with DCINY at Avery Fisher Hall. With Regina Opera he has sung Faust, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Boheme, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera, and Manrico in Il Trovatore. Past performances include Rodolfo in La Boheme with Amore Opera, the lieutenant in uniform, B. F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterly, and Rodolfo in La Boheme with Opera in the Highlands, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with South Florida Opera, Vanderdendur in Candide at Fort Worth Opera, and with Utah Festival Opera, Rodolfo in La Boheme, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus. At Seagle Music Colony he performed the Le Chevalier in Dialogues of the Carmelites and sang the anti-hero, Don Jose in Bizet’s Carmen. He has appeared in Hugo Weisgall’s Six Characters in Search of an Author with New Jersey Opera Festival, and as Ernesto in Don Pasquale with Des Moines Metro Opera on tour. At the Ash Lawn-Highland Festival he performed two leading roles--Don Jose in La Tragedié de Carmen (Peter Brook version) and Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He made his San Diego Opera stage debut as the notary in Bellini’s La Sonnambula.

Adam Russell was given the prize of the Dr. Letha Wayne Award in the Western Regional Finals at the San Francisco Opera, and have apprenticed as a singer at the Des Moines Metro Opera and Sarasota Opera.
